Cardiff Festival 2010

There was even more WOW on offer at this year’s Cardiff Festival with a double bill of spectacular performances featuring the very best of home grown talent and award winning international artists.

Cardiff’s own SWICA (South Wales Intercultural Community Arts) present ‘Dragon’ a sensational carnival theatre presentation. The flamboyantly costumed 50 strong cast brought to life Merlin the Magician’s ancient prophecy through a heady mix of dance, drumming, jumping stilts, steel pan melodies, Rio-style samba dancers and much more!

Attention then turned skyward where award-winning Spanish / Argentine company ‘Grupo Puja!’ perform Kosmos, an adrenaline fuelled aerial spectacle in its Welsh Premier.

During this acrobatic air ballet, eight energetic performers swung, spun, bounced and literally flew overhead suspended 150 feet in the air from a giant steel ball which created a breathtaking succession of poetic images, and a visualization of cosmic energy accompanied by high octane live music.

Check out these videos below I took from the event, and here for the photo gallery of image I captured!

A Great end to a great evening - fireworks at Cardiff Bay!
